This tostada recipe is inspired from Nopalito, one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the states. These Ground Beef Tostadas start with crispy corn tostada shells, refried beans, spiced ground beef loaded with our Taco Seasoning.
500 g minced meat
3 tbsp oil
5 tbsp Taco Seasoning
1 large white onion diced
2 jalapeños seeded and diced
2 tbsp tomato puré
4 diced tomatoes
2 tbsp water
Serve with: Hard shelled tostadas, grind cheese, pickled red onion, salsa, slice of lime, sour cream, refried beans
- Over medium high heat in a dutch oven or large skillet add oil and the ground beef and onion. Cook and stir until beef is well fried.
- Stir in jalapeños, Taco seasoning and tomato paste. Cook for several minutes.
- Stir in tomatoes and a bit of water. Reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes. Add some more oil or water if it dries out.Assemble by spreading some refried beans on each tostada shell and top with ground beef mixture. Add cheese, pickled red onion and chopped cilantro and salsa.
