The tastiest grilled pork chops with homemade BBQ sauce.
French style of cutting the meat, ribeyes or pork chops are cut with the bone. The recipe calls for a traditional BBQ rub and marinade. Whether cooking the steak on the grill or on a griddle on the stove this is an easy and delicious dish. Make a hearty batch of the BBQ sauce, it will be this summer favorite.
Ingredients
- 4 ribeye steaks or pork chops
- 3 tbsp BBQ rub
BBQ Sauce
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1.5 dl onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cup fresh mild chili, chopped (remove seeds)
- 2 cups of ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
- 1 dl of either honey or syrup
- 1 bottle of beer
- 3 tbsp BBQ rub
- Rub the meat on both sides with BBQ rub, allow to rest for at least 2 hours in the fridge.
- Before grilling, take out the meat and let it come up to room temperature.
Prepare the BBQ sauce
- Pour the olive oil into a cast iron pan.
- Simmer the onion until translucent, add the garlic and allow to simmer on low heat.
- Add chili and simmer for a few minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until the sauce has cooked together and become quite thick. The sauce can be stored in the fridge for about 10 days in a well-cleaned glass jar.
- Turn on the BBQ for about 30 minutes before grilling.
- Grill to taste over hot coals (or on an indoor grill) and brush with BBQ sauce a couple of times while cooking.
