Grilled ribeye or pork chops with BBQ Rub

Grilled ribeye or pork chops with BBQ Rub

This summer’s tastiest grilled pork chops with homemade BBQ sauce.

In Greece, butchers use the French style of cutting meat, and ribeyes or pork chops are cut with the bone. The Greek streak recipe calls for a traditional BBQ rub and marinade. Whether cooking steak on the grill or grilled in the oven, this is an easy and delicious dish.

Make a hearty batch of the BBQ  sauce, it will be this summer favorite.

  • 4  ribeye steaks or pork chops
  • 3 tbsp Epic Spice BBQ rub

BBQ Sauce

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 dl onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup fresh mild chili, chopped (remove seeds)
  • 2 cups of ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 1 dl of either honey or syrup
  • 1 bottle of beer
  • 3 tbsp BBQ rub
  1. Rub the meat on both sides with BBQ rub, allow to rest for at least 2 hours in the fridge.
  2. Before grilling, take out the meat and let it come up to room temperature.

Prepare the BBQ sauce

  1. Pour the olive oil into a cast iron pan.
  2. Simmer the onion until translucent, add the garlic and allow to simmer on low heat.
  3. Add chili and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until the sauce has cooked together and become quite thick. The sauce can be stored in the fridge for about 10 days in a well-cleaned glass jar.
  5. Turn on the BBQ  for about 30 minutes before grilling.
  6. Grill to taste over hot coals (or on an indoor grill) and brush with BBQ sauce a couple of times while cooking.
